Towards the Ryder Cup 2023, Saturday “Golf in the square” at Villa Borghese

After the forced stop for Covid, “Golf in the square” is back. A two-year wait. It was October 27, 2019 when a real “green” show was staged in the “Salotto” of Turin, in Piazza San Carlo and Via Roma, under the Mole Antonelliana. And now the appointment is in the Eternal City. Saturday 30 October (from 10 am to 5 pm) Piazza di Siena, in the heart of Villa Borghese, is ready to transform itself into a “green” for the first 2021 event of the “Road to Rome 2023”.

Piazza di Siena becomes a golf course

Eleven test stations set up for the occasion in Piazza di Siena, with many contests – but also entertainment and music activities – that will allow anyone who wants to show off their skills with the support of qualified teachers. Within a unique scenario, two years from the Italian Ryder Cup scheduled at the Marco Simone Golf & Country Country Club in Guidonia Montecelio (Rome) from Friday 29 September to Sunday 1 October 2023.

“Golf in the square”, a free event open to all

“Golf in the square” will be a real sport party. It will be a free event open to all, which will be sponsored by the Municipality of Rome and will have the support of the Lazio Region. And that returns to repeat itself after the great success of 2019 when, on the eve of the 76th Italian Open, enthusiasm was important in Piazza di Siena with over 2,500 people committed to discovering the magic of golf.

The “Road to Rome 2023” restarts

The “Road to Rome 2023” resumes and continues to embrace the whole country, with the aim of enhancing history, culture and territories, also increasing the growth of golf tourism. It will be Rome in 2022 to host the International Golf Travel Market – the largest event for the golf tourism sector – from 17 to 20 October between the pavilions of the Nuova Fiera Roma, the Sheraton Parco de ‘Medici Rome Hotel and the studios of Cinecittà.
